Building Update

The bad news is construction of the Southeast campus in Indiana is running a little behind schedule.

The good news is Southeast folks in Indiana plan to begin ministry—with or without a building.
At a meeting Sunday night on April 6, about 400 supporters of the Indiana campus assembled at Christian Academy Indiana in New Albany. At the gathering, Matt Chalfant, chairman of the board of elders, explained that the building currently is about five to six weeks behind schedule—mainly because of rain.

Delays in the delivery of steel also slowed the building’s progress. Steel is now at the site and is in the process of being raised.

Chalfant estimates the delays have pushed the building’s completion date from the fall of 2008 to the winter.

Rusty Russell, pastor of the campus, said ministry will go forward—even without a building. "We have a new Indiana staff that is chomping at the bit to do something," he said at the meeting. "Current plans call for starting some programming this fall, including Bible studies and something for kids.
